How to Play High C sharp and D flat on the Clarinet

There are three standard fingerings for C sharp and D flat. The two pitches are the same and are called enharmonic equivalents. Scroll down for explanations of each fingering. To see the fingerings for other pitches, select one of the note images in the chart below.

Notes on the fingerings for high C sharp
Fingering #1 is the standard fingering for altissimo register C sharp and D flat. Notice that unlike most of the other altissimo notes, this fingering does not use the right hand pinky. Fingering #2 is primarily used for trilling between high C and C sharp. Fingering #3 is primarily for trilling between high B and C sharp.

How to use the fingering charts
